AYICC-KENYA at Star FM Radio

AYICC-Kenya has been privileged with an opportunity at Star FM Radio where a member of AYICC gets to co~host the mid-morning programme with Mr.Duncan Rachuonyo. This is a programme which highlights environmental issues, the youth, leadership, women and development issues affecting the community especially in North eastern province.

On the 26th February we started on this initiative. Fatma Hassan, a new enthusiastic student member, honored our first representation where she bravely co-hosted the show alongside Mr.Rachuonyo. It was a success judging from the kind of response and indulgence that the show received.
Among the issues that we tackled included;
  • Education
  • Youth (Unemployment,leadership,drug abuse)
  • Tribalism
  • Women (Lack of opportunities in education and leadership)
  • Rape
  • Underdevelopment
  • The Environmental

It was realised there is need for more awareness on with the environmental issues in the North Eastern province.The communities in the region have very little or no knowledge about environmental issues, how to protect and nurture the environment for their own good.This is a niche that young people can take on to educate these communities. Lets hear your take on this.....

With much Appreciation to Star FM Radio Station
